Tastes of Siljan

The Siljan district offers many taste bud sensations so why not have a treat and browse among all the locally made delicacies? Game, berries, mushrooms, fish, all from Mother Nature’s larder, guarantee exciting combinations whatever the season.

Many local specialties are served in restaurants, where views over Siljan simply add to the experience. Enjoy, for example, the ever popular Siljan salmon, followed perhaps by cheese from Hansjö Dairy, made from the freshest of fresh milk. Other taste sensations to take home are, among others, cloudberry jam, chocolate, crisp bread and the soft thin bread. Why not add to your enjoyment by eating in unusual or surprising places. How about a light-filled warm evening, enjoying barbecued herring, on one of our historic summer farms?
